Christy – Nail Technician

Christy has been with Salon Bliss for over 13 years as a nail technician. A graduate of Grandview Beauty College, she has 15 years experience in the industry. She specializes in all aspects of artificial nail enhancements, manicures and pedicures. Christy is easy going and friendly and enjoys outdoor activities with her husband and two beautiful daughters.

Christen – Nail Technician

Christen has been a nail technician at Salon Bliss for over nine years. She specializes in manicures and pedicures & Deluxe Spa Services. She takes pride in her work and enjoys pleasing others. Christen is an effective communicator, problem solver and morale booster to our nail department. She loves beautiful weather, racing and spending time with friends and family. Christen: " I strive to make each client feel like they have the prettiest, best looking nails in the city all while relaxing in a clean, comfortable environment, with lots of personal attention."

Keaton – Nail Technician

Keaton is a talented nail technician with a special interest in nail art. She enjoys giving manicures and pedicures with a personal touch. Her specialties include colored acrylics, colored French polish, airbrushing, decals and rhinestones. Keaton is soft spoken, friendly and enjoys meeting new people.

Rashell - Nail Technician

Rashell graduated from House of Heavenlyn Beauty College specializing in pedicures and foot massages as well as all other nail services. She enjoys spending time with her family, walking, swimming, camping, shopping and lunch with friends. Rashell's goal here at Salon Bliss & Day Spa is to meet and exceed all of her client's expectations. Rashell also enjoys the upscale environment and classy clientele of Salon Bliss & Day Spa. She has made this her Home Away From Home.

Rachel – Massage Therapist

A massage therapist for 12 years, Rachel studied for two years at the Massage Therapy Training Institute and graduated with an Associates of Applied Science in Arts. She also has a 2-year degree in massage therapy. Rachel has been with Salon Bliss for six years. She is comfortable with all modalities of massage with an emphasis on neck, shoulders, lower back and deep tissue work. An animal lover, Rachel enjoys reading, gardening and spending time with her son.

Anna – Massage Therapist

Anna has over eight years experience as a massage therapist. She received her diploma from Utah College of Massage Therapy and LaStone Therapy. Her specialties include Swedish massage, deep tissue and trigger point therapy. In her spare time Anna is into softball, gardening, hiking and cooking.

Jan - Stylist

Salon owner, Jan Bliss, has been in the industry for over 25 years. She has an extensive educational background that includes training at the Aveda institute in London, Graham Webb Academy, Tigi, Joico, Schwarzkopf, Paul Mitchell, Rusk & Michael Cole. She also studied under salon psychologist, Dr. Lew. Jan has a passion for design cutting and color enhancements and is a color coordinator at Salon Bliss. She enjoys working with curly and fine to medium textured hair. Jan opened Salon Bliss in 1993 and has expanded the business three times to accommodate the high volume of clientele. Salon Bliss has since been voted the #1 Salon & Day Spa in Johnson County for 9 years in a row by Sun Publications. Outside of the salon Jan enjoys reading, working out, travel, candle making and of course, shopping with her two grand-children. Jan has a love for horses and owns four. In her spare time you can find her at the farm with Riley, Tango, Maia and Stella.

Nicole - Stylist

Nicole has 20 years experience as a stylist. She spent six years in Scottsdale, Arizona and has been in Overland Park for 15 years. She has received advanced training in New York with "Curly Girl" guru Lorraine Massey for cutting curly hair. Nicole also specializes in the highlighting technique for curly hair known as "Pintura". She has trained with Redken and Rusk for cutting and coloring, L'Oreal advance color, Deva Curl cutting & coloring, Aquage Kinetic cutting & razoring. Other specialties include 3 different straighteners and perming. Nicole really enjoys getting to know you and your hair needs. When not styling hair, she enjoys time with her husband raising 3 daughters along with gardening and other outdoor activities.

Christopher - Stylist

Christopher has been a professional Stylist for 18 years with 13 at Salon Bliss. He has successfully completed the Vidal Sassoon Advanced Academy, Toni & Guys Academy of Precision Haircutting. He has studied under the European Cutting Design Team; Fanone International. He has also trained under the highly accredited National Schwarzkopf Color Educator, Misael, in Understanding the Art of Color and Movement.

Whether you seek a precision cut, custom color, the perfect perm, or a nourishing hair moisturizing treatment, Christopher has been thoroughly and rigorously trained to meet your needs. Best of all, he will give you the kind of hair that looks great everyday! With his interest in continuing education, he keeps up with the latest techniques and upcoming fashion forecasts. Jennifer – Hair Designer

Jennifer has 11 years experience as a hair designer. She has studied with Regis Academy and has been with Salon Bliss for over six years. Jennifer's strengths include cutting, color enhancement, and her specialty is permanent waving, long and short. She likes to read and spend time with her family.

Terrie - Stylist

Terrie has over 23 years experience in the industry and has served as an instructor at LaBaron Academy and color coach at Aveda. Her specialties include up-dos, razor cuts, color enhancements and corrective color. She is good with naturally curly and fine hair and loves to deliver change. Terrie enjoys crafts, gardening and reading mystery novels in her spare time.

Dawn D - Stylist

Dawn has been in the industry for 15 years and is celebrating 10 years at Salon Bliss this year. A graduate of Jones Hair & Nail School and of Longview Community College, she will graduate in May of 2008 with an Associate of Arts Degree. Dawn also serves as an educator on our staff. She specializes in all aspects of color enhancement, razor cutting and especially listening to her clients needs. Dawn likes to have fun & laugh but also like to make sure her clients have a positive, relaxing experience at Salon Bliss. In her spare time she enjoys reading, signing & learning.

Denise – Stylist

Denise has been with Salon Bliss for nine years. Her 33 years of experience includes training with Chadwicks, Mizael Aponte (art of color and movement), Redken, Joico and Schwarzkopf. Denise has worked as a salon educator and as a platform artist. She believes that good communication is essential for great results. She is experienced and confident in all aspects of hair design and excels at retexturizing and color enhancements. In her spare time, Denise has enjoyed ballet for many years.

Tammy – Stylist / Make-up Artist

Tammy loves doing fun, alternative hair and make-up. She studied with Aveda and has over ten years of experience as a stylist. Tammy keeps up with the latest trends and technology with continuing education. Her specialties include working with blondes, the mod bob, curly hair, fine hair, cutting, perming and color enhancements. She is also very particular about blending and softening layers. Tammy loves shopping and all things fashion. She really enjoys what she does and loves giving people a change.

Amy M - Stylist / Make-up Artist

Amy has over 12 years experience in the salon industry. She has studied men's haircutting class with Pureology, Jessica Simpson hair extension class, a variety of color classes with techniques from Redken, Joico and Schwarzkopf as well as cutting classes for bobs, layers and texturizing. Amy is great with up-dos, blow-dry styles, men's cuts, short fun looks, make-up and extreme makeovers. In her spare time she enjoys outdoor activities, music concerts and fun with friends and family.

Stacey – Hair Designer

Stacey has been a designer for over 11 years, with nine years here at Salon Bliss. A graduate of Hays Academy of Hair Design, Stacey specializes in color enhancement and highlighting. She keeps up with current trends and techniques with continuing education classes. Stacey enjoys socializing, reading and travel.

Phoenix - Stylist

Phoenix has been a beauty and fashion fan since she was a child growing up on the east coast. She holds a masters certificate in hair color and has had extensive training with Tigi, Wella, Redken and Goldwell. Phoenix has utilized her talents behind the scenes in fashion shows. As a platform artist, she has performed at shows for several reputable manufacturers in Philadelphia, Chicago and Minneapolis. She has also worked at local music events and cable makeover shows. Phoenix describes her work as trendy, edgy and sophisticated. Her goal is to give the client a look that reflects their own true self.

Heather - Stylist

Heather has been a designer for 12 years and has 3 years here at Salon Bliss. A graduate of Barton County Community College, Heather specializes in fine hair, men's cuts and all aspects of color enhancement. She has an upbeat, outgoing personality. In her spare time she enjoys trips to the lake and spending time with friends and family.

Maggie - Stylist

A graduate of Dillard's Cosmetology School, Maggie has been a stylist for seven years. Her focus on continuing education has helped her specialize in men's cuts, curly & straight hair, highlights and color enhancements. Maggie enjoys spending time with her family and friends and playing with her daughter.

Michelle – Hair Designer

A former Graham Webb educator, Michelle is a graduate of the Lawrence Beauty Academy and has been a designer for over 11 years. She also serves as an educator on our staff and specializes in dimensional color enhancement, highlighting and trendsetting cuts and styles. Michelle attends continuing education classes to keep up to date with the latest in trends and technology. She is warm, friendly and enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Aleah – Stylist

Aleah is a graduate of the American Academy of Hair Design in Topeka, KS. She has color enhancement training with Wella and Redken. Aleah has also trained with Mizani for hair relaxers. Recently she attended training with Pureology cutting techniques, L'Oreal color, Mitzu Sato bob class, make-up education and facial waxing. Her specialties include make-up application, women's styles, special occasion up-dos and Ethnic hair. Her three-years of experience have made her knowledgeable with all types and textures of hair. In her spare time, Aleah enjoys spending time with friends, dancing, music, movies and reading.

Kimberly – Stylist

Kimberly has been with Salon Bliss for two years. A graduate of Johnson County Community College, Kimberly has worked with models for fashion shows providing make-up application and runway hairstyles in Chicago. She enjoys short, fun razor cuts, color enhancements, and complete makeovers. She is exceptional with special occasion up-dos and bridal parties. Kimberly likes to shop, read, exercise and spending time with family and friends.

Vesta – Stylist

Vesta brings more than 35 years experience in the industry to Salon Bliss & Day Spa. While relocating with her husband's career, she has worked in some of the best salons in the Midwest. Her personality, professionalism and concern for the customer has made her a success in every location. Vesta has excelled in many specialties including Perms, up-dos for special occasions, layered cuts, working with fine hair and men's cuts. Her belief in a quality consultation helps provide satisfaction. She has the knowledge to educate you on the health and care of your hair to maintain that look achieved. Away from the Salon, Vesta enjoys family, friends, the occasional dinner and a movie, attending church and going to the lake. Vesta says, "I really enjoy my work and the best is making people look & feel better about themselves."

Katie – Esthetician

Katie joined Salon Bliss over nine years ago. She studied at Sidney's Hairdressing College in Hutchinson, Kansas and Sothys Advanced Skin Care in San Francisco. She recently completed training at the Gly-Med Institute and attended training at Pevonia, MicroDerm, PCA, Rejuvalite as well as O² Salon Oxygen Therapy system. Katie enjoys all aspects of skin care, and specializes in acne care, sinus relief massages and facial waxing. She is friendly and loves meeting new people. In her spare time she enjoys reading, computers, taking pictures, traveling and spending time with her large family.

Amber - Esthetician

With over seven years experience in the industry, Amber prides herself on her attention to detail. A graduate of the College of Hair Design, she specializes in waxing, problem skin and mature skin treatments as well as many other types of facial treatments. She is outgoing and friendly, loves to read, travel and spend time with friends and family.

Angie - Esthetician

A 17 year veteran esthetician, Angie has studied at Xenon International; the Conservatory of Esthetics; Gly-Med Institute; LaMarquis Training Center and most recently received specialized training with the O² Salon Oxygen Therapy system. She also serves as an educator on our staff. Angie specializes in anti-aging facials, Rejuvalite, Micro Dermabrasion, and all types of waxing. She is warm, friendly and easy-going. In her spare time she enjoys family time and church activities.

Alla - Esthetician

Alla has been with Salon Bliss for 10 years as an esthetician. A graduate of Johnson County Community College, Alla likes to keep up to date on the latest techniques in esthetics. She has also completed courses in advanced clinical skin care including the Gly-Med Institute, Pevonia and PCA skin care systems. Educating her clients on how to care for their skin is one of her many strengths. Clients enjoy her special "Russian Touch". She is an expert with anti-aging facials, alpha-hydroxy peels, oxygen, Rejuvalight, PCA chemical peels, Micro Dermabrasion, various body treatments and all types of waxing. Alla is a fantastic cook who enjoys reading, family time and a nice walk outside. Alla says, "I love making my clients not only look better, but to also feel great!"

Sheena - Esthetician

Sheena recently joined Salon Bliss with over 17 years experience. She has specialized training in Esthetics, Energy Chinese Meridian Sheridia, Lymphatic Drainage, as well as extensive training with different body treatments, massage, Micro Dermabrasion and chemical peels. Sheena enjoys going for walks, swimming, riding horses and boating at the lake.

Shelby - Stylist

Shelby has eight years of experience as a hair stylist. She has worked for Allen Edwards Salon (LA). Her training includes classes at Vidal Sassoon Academy, Sebastian International, American Crew, Toni & Guy Academy, Framesi and Maske with advance color theory from Schwarzkopf. Shelby likes all aspects of doing hair, but her passion is color. In her spare time she enjoys donating time to charity organizations and assists with Sebastian International's makeover sessions for local battered women's shelters as well as makeovers for the wives of soldiers sent overseas.

Heidi - Massage Therapist

Heidi graduated from Heritage College in 2005 and has been practicing massage at Salon Bliss ever since. Her favorite technique is deep tissue, but she can also do very relaxing Swedish massages. She loves to spend time doing outdoor activities like skiing, jogging and playing football with friends. Heidi believes massage is just another component to improve one's overall wellness and she's here to help you achieve that goal!

Kristie - Stylist

Kristie has been in the industry for nine years. She loves incorporating the latest trends in hair to everyday looks that anyone can wear. Kristie is heavily inspired by the fashion and music industry and she enjoys working with all hair types. She prides herself on listening to what her clients want - then sets about creating it. Since graduating Lawrence Beauty Academy, she has completed master level courses from Redken, Matrix, Goldwell and Schwarzkopf. Working with the Chiefs Cheerleaders Style Team as well as many J-Crew fashion shows complements her specialty in hair color.
